The Segenhoe is an early Inter War Art Deco building. designed by Emily Sodersten, regarded as one of Australias first generation of modern architects.

Segenhoe Flats (c1937) at 50 Wolfe Street Newcastle has been listed on the State Heritage Register.

The block of flats is historically important in Newcastle, demonstrating the changing attitudes to housing in the 1930s, moving toward a dense, high rise apartment living design.

Hunter Interior Design was engaged to curate the interior finishes, fixtures and design of the renovation, encasing the existing heritage was at the forefront of the design brief.
